What percentages do the Jess Beauty's retinols have?
Our two retinols differ in potency: Timeless Skin has a percentage of 0.7% (our most potent formula) and Age Rewind has 0.1% (gentle retinol, perfect for beginners). When using retinol, it's very important to consider the following points:
Retinol is used at night and sunscreen should be applied the next day to avoid irritation and skin discoloration.
Start by using it twice a week and increase its use as your skin builds tolerance. You can start with Age Rewind and once you feel your skin is ready for Timeless Skin, you can make the switch.
We recommend applying eye cream and moisturizer (Post Workout) before applying retinol to make its use gentler. DO NOT use on damaged skin as it may cause irritation. DO NOT mix vitamin C with retinol.
Which of the two retinols should I use? What is the difference between them?
Age Rewind is a gentle retinol, suitable for all skin types. On the other hand, Timeless Skin cream is more potent and designed for those with previous experience in using retinol and seeking more advanced results. Choose according to your skin type and experience; however, with either one, you can enjoy the benefits of retinol.
Can I use Age Rewind or Timeless Skin and Shine Bright in the same routine?
Mixing retinol and niacinamide in the same skincare routine can lead to irritation for some people. Here are a few reasons why:
Skin Sensitivity: Both ingredients can be potent, especially for those with sensitive skin. Using them together may increase the risk of irritation, redness, or discomfort.
Layering Concerns: When layering products, the order of application matters. Applying them together may not allow each ingredient to work effectively.
To avoid potential issues, it's often recommended to use them at different times of the day (e.g., retinol at night and niacinamide in the morning) or on alternate days. Always consult with a dermatologist for personalized advice, especially if you have sensitive skin or specific concerns.
